A five-mile bike ride surrounded by nature's beauty makes for a perfect afternoon. Choose between the dirt trail, the paved trail, or switch between the two. Miramar Reservoir is located in Scripps Ranch and offers many fun activities for people of all ages to enjoy. The Reservoir has been closed because of the pandemic, but reopened on May 16th for biking, jogging, walking, boating, and fishing. There are several barbeques and picnic tables throughout the park.

On a Sunday afternoon, we put all of our bikes in the truck and made our way to Miramar Lake. We ate lunch at a lake view picnic table. The serene setting was perfect. We brought sushi, chips, sodas, and waters. It was a beautiful, quiet day with very few people around. After lunch, we jumped on our bikes and started on the bike path. There were many little spots to stop and look at the lake. We walked out on the fish floats to be on the water and soak in the sun. Various areas on the dirt path had benches to take a break from biking or jogging. After four miles of biking, we turned around because the gate to the dam was closed. The ride back was just as beautiful.

Miramar Lake is open every day from sunrise to sunset. For information regarding concession and rentals visit rockymountainrec.com.
The lake is open to private boats, fishing, float tubes, and kayaks seven days a week.
