The Cliffs in La Jolla are Beautiful But Don't Get Too Close

Posted by Amy P on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, In : San Diego Areas
La Jolla is one of the most beautiful places in San Diego. The expansive cliffs, numerous sea lions, incredible views of the coast, and classy shops and dining options attract thousands of visitors daily. On a beautiful Sunday in March, the 8th to be exact, I ventured out to find a coffee shop with an ocean view and to take a nice walk around La Jolla Cove. It takes patience to find parking, but eventually one of the 2-hour spots near the grassy area will become available.

Having been to The L...

Weekend getaway a short distance from San Diego at Playa Del Rey Beach

Posted by Alexander P on Thursday, August 30, 2018, In : San Diego Areas
Need a little break? Try visiting Playa Del Rey about 121 miles from San Diego. There are many shops, great restaurants, the beautiful beach, and of course Manhattan Beach Pier. Located at the end of the pier is The Roundhouse Aquarium, open daily with free admission, with viewing and touch tanks. The beach is perfect for families as well as those who enjoy running, walking, or biking. There is plenty of volleyball nets for games and parking is fairly easy.

The area of Bay Park in San Diego is a much desired area in San Diego.

Posted by Alexander P on Thursday, November 30, 2017, In : San Diego Areas
The area of Bay Park in San Diego is a much desired area in San Diego. There are some very popular businesses and shops such as Siesel's Meats, Starbucks, Sprouts, Bay Park Coffee, Local Krave, Bull's Smokin BBQ, JV's Mexican Food, Luce Bar & Kitchen, and Bird's Surf Shed. Having raised my kids in the area for the last 10 years I can attest to the fact that this is a very tight knit community. I see many neighbors helping neighbors and several businesses donating to local schools. In addition...

One of the best views and areas in San Diego is Torrey Pines Gliderport!

Posted by Alexander P on Sunday, April 30, 2017, In : San Diego Areas
What better place to spend our 2017 Easter than at the beautiful Torrey Pines Gliderport! There was a live band playing, along with many people paragliding and hang gliding. Bring family, friends, or visitors to enjoy the views and have a bite to eat at The Cliffhanger Café which sits atop the cliffs of Torrey Pines. Some see whales and dolphins from the outdoor dining area.

After a little snack we hiked down to Blacks Beach adding to our already terrific day. Bring a hat, sunglasses, and wat...

Beautiful La Jolla Shores Beach in San Diego California is one of the best

Posted by Alexander P on Friday, September 30, 2016, In : San Diego Areas
If you have not had the privilege of visiting La Jolla Shores beach I highly recommend planning a trip. The sand is soft and warm and there are palm trees everywhere. Kayak to the cliffs and go inside the caves, surf, or get a glimpse of the Leopard Sharks while snorkeling. There are cafes and restaurants close to the beach or you can BBQ yourself. There is a small parking lot that you can pay $2/hr to park in or feel free to park on La Jolla Blvd or one of the side streets and just walk to t...

Little Italy is a scenic neighborhood in Downtown San Diego

Posted by Alexander P on Saturday, April 30, 2016, In : San Diego Areas
Little Italy is a busy neighborhood in Downtown San Diego, around India and Date St. The buzz of the Mercato Farmers' Market on Saturday mornings attracts many visitors. Tourists and locals walking around with their cappuccinos while browsing the fresh produce, meats, drinks, plants, and crafts. If you like Italian food, make sure to grab a bite to eat at one of the Italian eateries such as Buon Appetito on India St.

It's easy to find something to do in this trendy area as there are many shops...

Learn about San Diego history with a tour at Cabrillo National Monument

Posted by Alexander Pfleger on Monday, February 29, 2016, In : San Diego Areas
One of my favorite places in San Diego is the Cabrillo National Monument. My sons 3rd grade class took a field trip to Cabrillo this month and of course I had to tag along. The beautiful scenic drive was a great start to the day. We enjoyed an interesting video commemorating the landing of Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo at San Diego Bay on September 28, 1542.

The statue of Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo stands on a breathtaking overlook of the Pacific Ocean. "The visitor center offers an "Age of Explorati...

Windansea Beach in La Jolla is one of my favorite beaches in San Diego

Posted by Alexander Pfleger on Wednesday, November 25, 2015, In : San Diego Areas
On a busy and windy afternoon between appointments, I went to my favorite beach in San Diego to check out the intense waves crashing on the shore. Windansea Beach in La Jolla is a "locals" beach where many visitors and residents enjoy breathtaking sunsets. Experienced surfers take advantage of the immense waves year around. Find sitting benches on top of the cliffs and a white wooden staircase leading to the sandy beach. This peaceful beach is reminiscent of Hawaii with it's blue water and so...

Explore the quaint area of Bankers Hill in San Diego

Posted by Alexander Pfleger on Saturday, October 31, 2015, In : San Diego Areas
Last week I visited Cafe Bassam between Quince Street and Redwood Street in Bankers Hill. I expected the parking to be difficult, but had no problem finding a spot close to the popular coffee and tea shop. The blue sky and great weather added to the peaceful atmosphere. Before making my way to the Cafe I took a stroll across the wooden pedestrian bridge that spans over Maple Canyon. Quince Street Bridge allows passage from Bankers Hill into Balboa Park.

On a cloudy Memorial Day weekend in 2015 we enjoyed a leisurely stroll while taking in the breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean at an extremely unique spot in Pacific Beach, the Crystal Pier. Sleep over the ocean, surf, fish, and enjoy the beach activities.

Find this beautiful public pier and hotel at the west end of Garnet Avenue. Visitors and locals take advantage of the shops and restuaruants along the boardwalk (Ocean Front Walk/Ocean Boulevard), where they can take a walk or bike ride,...

Coronado Island has one of the most beautiful beaches in America

Posted by Alexander Pfleger on Monday, September 8, 2014, In : San Diego Areas
It was a pleasure to give my out of town clients a look into Coronado real estate. The condos we viewed were beautiful and contemporary. My clients want a boat slip, to be right on the sand, and within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. The homes here are luxury and the atmosphere is peaceful. Coronado beach was rated the fifth best beach in America by The Travel Channel in 2008. Please visit our detailed and custom buyers site to view homes in Coronado by clicking here.

Ocean Beach is a beautiful place to live and a fun place to visit.

In Ocean Beach there is a variety of people, beaches, homes, and entertainment. Enjoy surfing, walking on the boardwalk, fishing off of the pier, hanging out at a bar, or laying out on the beach. Drive down to sunset cliffs and enjoy the breathtaking views or a walk. This is a very animal friendly area in San Diego so feel free to bring your dog to the beach in designated areas. If you are considering a move to Ocean Beach or are interested in selling your OB home, please give Alexander Pfleg...

We had a great time camping at Santee Lakes for Father's Day!

Posted by Alexander P. on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, In : San Diego Areas
This place is great for so many reasons, including something to do for people of all ages. Santee Lakes is great for camping, mostly RV's but there are a few spots that allow tents. My family and I enjoyed fishing straight from our camping spot. We were close to very clean bathrooms with showers. There are multiple playgrounds for the kids to play on, a water park, and a swimming pool. There is a recreation center, activities, and a clubhouse. If you don't own an RV and are not one to enjoy s...

Who doesn't love going to Mission Bay Park in Pacific Beach. It has so much to offer.

Posted by Alexander P. on Saturday, June 14, 2014, In : San Diego Areas
Mission Bay Park in Pacific Beach is one of the largest man-made aquatic parks in the country and has a great park for kids on Fanuel St. One of San Diego's most popular locations to play with the kids, have a picnic, fly a kite, go for a run or bike ride, roller blade, or sail on a yacht. Enjoy cooking and staying warm in the evening with fire pits. Make sure to take advantage of free activities such as professional volleyball. The below photos were taken with my family at sunset. One of my favorite places to meet family and friends for a day of fun!

Posted by Alexander P on Friday, June 13, 2014, In : San Diego Areas
Del Mar Beach is a central location for my kids and I to meet family living in Carlsbad. This beach is great for swimming, surfing, walking, building sand castles, playing at the playground, jogging, eating, shopping, and much more. It is lined with nice, expensive homes. Public restrooms are located under the stage area at the Del Mar Community Powerhouse building. We enjoy meeting friends and family at this beach/park for a day of fun followed by grabbing dinner at a local restaurant. This...
