Best of the best at Park Hyatt Aviara Resort in Carlsbad

Posted by Alexander P on Friday, December 22, 2017, In : Places
While previewing properties in Carlsbad for clients I visited the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort to see the beautiful grounds during Christmastime. Amazing decorations and atmosphere, not to mention the people were extremely friendly from the valet staff to the concierge. If you are local to San Diego this is the perfect place for a staycation or drop-in visit for a cocktail or appetizer. If staying for the night there is a parking fee, however if you are just visiting for a few hours they happily ...

Open Air Theatre at San Diego State University is an awesome venue.

Posted by Alexander P on Monday, July 31, 2017, In : Places
We were happy to finally go to a concert at the Open Air Theatre at San Diego State University. It was a beautiful Thursday night to hear great music. We took the Trolley to avoid traffic and parking issues and what a nice ride it was with beautiful views of San Diego. Despite it being a fairly popular band there was a lot of open seats, so much so that they were giving away tickets closer to the stage to guests seated in higher rows. Very nice venue with food and drinks for sale as well as c...

What better to do with family in town than to visit the Children's Pool in La Jolla.

Posted by Alexander P on Friday, June 30, 2017, In : Places
The Children's Pool in La Jolla on Coast Blvd is easy to get to and provides an amazing view of seals and the water. The wall was built to break the waves and create a place for children to swim in the ocean. The walkway allows for spectacular views of the area and ocean. Visitors may feel mislead by the name as it is not really a place for children to swim due to all of the seals, although it was originally created for kids and families. We drove further South and found a beautiful quiet bea...

Living in San Diego we get a lot of visitors from friends and family living in other states. There are so many places in and around San Diego County for our guests to see. A short trip to Lake Cuyamaca and Julian is a great way to get out of the city and enjoy the countryside. About an hour from Downtown San Diego you will find a little restaurant and store with a beautiful view of Lake Cuyamaca. Enjoy home made chicken pot pies, a friendly staff, and good service. Drive another 15 minutes fr...

The Geisel Library at University of California in San Diego

Posted by Alexander P on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, In : Places
The University of California in La Jolla is home to one of the most beautiful library's in the United States. The Geisel Library is named after Audrey and Theodor Seuss Geisel. I have worked with many clients attending UC San Diego looking to be near the college. On one cloudy day I decided to visit the campus to explore and get pictures of the library known for it's unique and modern architecture. There was plenty of spots in the Hopkins Parking Structure and the pay stations were right next...

Beautiful Shelter Island in Point Loma, San Diego

Posted by Alexander Pfleger on Wednesday, August 5, 2015, In : Places
While touring properties in Point Loma I couldn't help but stop to enjoy the view. This neighborhood of Point Loma is attached to the mainland by a strip of land. The Port of San Diego owns and controls Shelter Island and a variety of businesses such as art galleries, antique shops, hair salons, and ice cream parlors, lease from the Port.

The Silvergate Yacht Club is on Shelter Island as well as remarkable pieces of art like the Tunaman's Memorial and the Yokohama Friendship Bell. Many outdoor...

San Diego is full of special places and hidden gems, such as the Spruce Street Suspension Bridge and Harper’s Topiary Garden. The Spruce Street foodbridge is over 100 years old, 75 feet above the canyon, and 375 feet long. Enjoy a leisurely walk surrounded by nature in the middle of this upscale neighborhood of Bankers Hill. The bridge does sway a little as you reach the middle and it is high above the ground. I have brought my family here many times and on most occasions there are photoshoots going on because it is such a unique place that sits up on a hill.

Take a walk in this peaceful and quiet large rolling park with the kids or have a picnic. Presidio Park is located just above Old Town with it's picturesque mission and harbor or coastline v...

New waterpark in Downtown San Diego lives up to it's hype

Posted by Alexander p on Monday, July 7, 2014, In : Places
My family and I were excited to attend a birthday party at the new waterfront park in downtown San Diego on Pacific Highway and Harbor Drive, between Grape and Ash streets.

The new water park sits on 12 acres and has large grassy areas to picnic, extremely fun play structures for kids of all ages, and a large fountain to cool off on a hot day. We have a toddler and he had a blast being able to walk around in the water. The park is easy to get to and great for people visiting San Diego.
